Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Decree “On additional measures to improve the activities of the Family and Women Committee” was adopted.

According to the Decree, the subordination of the Committee on Family and Women will be transferred from the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction to the Cabinet of Ministers.

In order to effectively organize the activities of the Committee:

The position of Deputy Prime Minister - Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women - was introduced in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Also, the following are appointed and dismissed in agreement with the Chairman of the Committee:

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan - Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women of the Republic of Karakalpakstan;

deputy khokims of the regions and the city of Tashkent - heads of the departments of family and women of the regions and the city of Tashkent;

deputy khokims of districts (cities) - heads of departments of family and women of districts (cities).

Based on the Research Institute of Family and Women, a Research Institute of Family and Gender will be created.
