The prospects for Uzbek-Turkish cooperation in the housing sector were considered

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 December 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev met with the head of the State Housing Administration (TOKI) of the Republic of Turkiye Omer Bulut at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side highly appreciated the activities of TOKI in the construction of affordable social housing for the Turkish population and expressed interest in establishing cooperation in the field of housing construction using advanced Turkish technologies and experience.

For his part, Omer Bulut emphasized the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, the favorable conditions created for investors and expressed his readiness to continue cooperation in the framework of the implementation of joint promising projects and the provision of technical and advisory assistance, including the development of a "Strategy for the creation of social houses" on next 5 years.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached specific agreements regarding the creation of a joint working group for a detailed study of the organizational aspects of further cooperation using Turkish experience in the construction of affordable social housing.

The State Housing Authority of Turkiye was established in 1984, and its main goal is to meet the housing needs of low- and middle-income citizens. Over the past 20 years, the Administration has built 1.1 million residential buildings, 1,395 schools, 20 universities, 997 sports complexes and 44 libraries in the Republic of Turkiye.
