Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 August, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on economic development, good governance and international cooperation Suma Chakrabarti.

The priority areas of reforms that form the investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan were discussed. In particular, the prospects for the creation of an international commercial court and the introduction of other tools aimed at increasing the competitiveness and attractiveness of various spheres and sectors of the country’s economy were considered.

Suma Chakrabarti was appointed Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan in September 2020. From July 2012 to July 2020, he served as President of the EBRD. Previously he was Permanent Secretary at the Department for International Development (2002-2007) and the Department of Justice (2007-2012) of the United Kingdom.
