Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Sardor Rustambaev met with the executive director of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rajesh Mehta, Dunyo news agency reported.

The meeting took place to discuss the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and India.

At the meeting, issues of increasing the volume of exports of Uzbek goods to India were discussed, including the organization of “show rooms” in various cities of India to promote the products of Uzbek entrepreneurs.

The parties also reached agreements regarding activities to attract Indian businessmen to new joint projects in the fields of medicine, pharmaceuticals and education. It was also discussed to intensify investment cooperation between the two countries.

An important aspect of the meeting was the exchange of views on organizing joint events in various sectors, such as the textile and handicraft industries, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
