The project on the introduction of digital education is presented in the schools of Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 September, in secondary schools No. 250 of Yunusabad district and No. 133 of Almazar district of Tashkent, a presentation of a pilot project for the introduction of digital education was held, the implementation of which was carried out by Huawei and the national operator Uztelecom with the support of the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The pilot project was launched in these schools, as well as in the Specialized School for in-depth study of subjects in the direction of information and communication technologies named after Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi.

The pilot project was implemented within the framework of the Memorandum on the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the field of public education, concluded between the Ministry of Public Education and Huawei last year. As a result of the project, Wi-Fi coverage was implemented in schools 250 and 133 in dedicated classrooms, video conferencing systems were established to provide distance education and lessons in real time, IT technology classrooms were equipped with tablets, server equipment for deploying cloud storage, and the infrastructure for the data transmission network was created in cooperation with the national communications operator Uztelecom. Each school was equipped with five classrooms.

“It is no coincidence that the President called this year the Year of the Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy. And as the distinguished head of our state notes, there is a reason for the term “digital economy” in the name of 2020, in this regard, he constantly appeals to teachers to explain these concepts to the general public, schoolchildren in particular. In the field of public education, a number of works are also being carried out to develop the digital system,” noted Rustam Karimjonov, noted the Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“Last year, during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the Huawei headquarters in Beijing, the head of state noted the need for cooperation in the field of training in information technology, as this is the basis for the development of the country’s digital economy. The use of high technologies in the learning process plays an important role in the formation of the country’s personnel reserve. Pilot projects that have been implemented in schools show the possibilities for further digitalization of schools in Uzbekistan. We will be glad to continue cooperation in this direction,” said Davron Azizov, Director of Corporate Communications at Huawei Uzbekistan.

In recent months, amid the pandemic, the benefits of digital technology and solutions have become more valuable than ever. The digitalization of such social spheres as education and health care, first of all, has a positive effect on increasing the efficiency of providing services to the population. Technologies are designed to reduce the burden on the shoulders of the teaching staff and medical personnel, to increase the quality and speed of the information exchange process. And therefore it is very important to develop digital skills in the young generation from school and to introduce them to the world of high technologies.
