Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The project "Advertising Literacy" starts in the CIS member states. Its goal is to prevent violations in the field of advertising and improve the advertising literacy of citizens.

On 3 July 2023, with the assistance of the FAS Russia and under the auspices of the ICAP Advertising Coordinating Council, an information campaign "Advertising Literacy" was launched in the CIS member states. The authorized bodies regulating advertising activities in the states represented in the Council posted information materials on their official Internet resources and websites. They will be regularly updated as additions are made by ICAP Member States. This was reported by the press service of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection.

They contain general rules for creating advertising materials, including the use of the words “best”, “first”, as well as a list of mandatory requirements for advertising for advertisers to self-check.

This project will help entrepreneurs assess their advertising for consumer appeal and compliance with advertising laws.

The decision to launch an information campaign was made by representatives of the authorized bodies of the CIS member states that regulate advertising activities and participants in the advertising market of the CIS member states on 23 May 2023 during an extraordinary Advertising Council.
