Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – A delegation of Uzbekistan led by acting mayor of the city of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzakov, is holding a series of meetings with Chinese business representatives with the aim of organizing cooperation with Chinese companies in the field of green technologies, smart urban planning, transport, trade, attracting investors to large-scale promising projects being implemented in Tashkent, expanding existing and new joint projects.
Namely, a meeting was held with the CRRC Group, a leader in the field of creating optimally thought-out urban transport, including wheeled trams. Also, negotiations and agreements were concluded with Shanghai Construction Group for the reconstruction of roads, landscaping and construction of overpasses. In addition, an agreement was reached with Jibao Electrical to create enterprises for the production of transformers in Tashkent.
Also during the meetings, Chairman of the Board of Toshkent Invest Kompaniyasi JSC Bahrom Shakirov and Deputy Chairman for Strategic Development Rustam Kadyrov made a detailed presentation reflecting the investment potential of the capital. Information was given about the international rating, conditions and guarantees for investors, economic indicators of Tashkent, and the development strategy of the metropolis as a whole was introduced.
The event was attended by the deputy khokim of Tashkent for investment and foreign trade Sharof Rakhmanov, khokim of the Sergeli region Elbek Shukurov, the meeting was mainly aimed at Chinese entrepreneurs.
The deputy khokim noted that the city of Tashkent is developing rapidly and has adopted large development programs in such areas as education, medicine, transport, reconstruction and modernization of infrastructure and communications. He said that Tashkent is open to cooperation with large, reliable partners in these areas.
It was separately emphasized that recently Tashkent, thanks to the openness policy of the head of state, has experienced an impressive increase in the flow of tourists and representatives of business circles interested in cooperation with the capital.
As a result of the meetings, a number of investment agreements were signed with the above-mentioned Chinese companies, the total amount of which is US$970 million.
