Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva took part in events within the framework of the autumn session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, held on 16-17 November in the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek.

In particular, representatives of Uzbekistan took part in meetings of the standing commissions of the IPA CIS on political issues and international cooperation, social policy and human rights.

Also at the meeting of the CIS Interparliamentary Youth Assembly, members of the Youth Parliament in the chambers of the Oliy Majlis discussed issues of information security on the Internet.

At the meeting of the Council of the IPA CIS, the results of the events held in 2023 were summed up, information was heard on the monitoring of election campaigns in the Commonwealth. In addition, information was heard on the activities of a number of standing commissions of the IPA CIS.

And at the 56th plenary meeting of the Assembly, which was attended by representatives of international organizations, scientists and experts along with parliamentarians of the Commonwealth countries, a number of model bills relating to the sphere of health care, ecology, security and law were considered.

It is worth noting that model lawmaking is the main activity of the Assembly. Model laws are developed by members of the parliaments of the Commonwealth countries and are advisory in nature.
