Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to further strengthening bilateral relations between the parliament of Uzbekistan and the parliaments of Arab states. Special attention was given to expanding cooperation in the areas of lawmaking, parliamentary oversight, intensifying regular dialogues, and organizing reciprocal visits between parliamentary committees.

Additionally, an agreement was reached on joint work to develop cultural and humanitarian cooperation, hold a forum for women leaders, sign a memorandum of understanding between the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Arab Parliament, create a friendship group, and implement social projects.
