Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 February, a double earthquake of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 with an epicenter in Kahramonmarash affected more than 13 million people in 11 provinces of the country, Dunyo news agency reported.
According to Anadolu news agency, as of 27 February, at least 44,374 people died.
Currently, more than 1.5 million victims are housed in tents, container towns and public guest houses in disaster areas, 563 thousand people have been evacuated outside the disaster area, the head of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority ( AFAD) Yunus Sezer said at a press briefing.
