The new Ambassador of Uzbekistan presented his credentials to the Federal President of Germany

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov presented his credentials to Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the conversation that followed the presentation ceremony, the state and prospects for the further development of multifaceted Uzbek-German cooperation were discussed.

The head of the German state noted the high level of bilateral relations achieved in recent years, characterized by special dynamism and coverage of a wide range of areas of partnership, as well as Germany’s interest in further deepening interaction with Uzbekistan.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier conveyed sincere wishes for success and prosperity to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan.

At the end of the ceremony of presenting credentials at the residence of the Federal President of Germany, the flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was raised with military honors.

Before his appointment to Berlin, Dilshod Akhatov headed the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India (2020–2023). He is 51 years old. He graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

He started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system as an intern and went through all the steps of the career ladder to the head of the department and the Main Directorate, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 2010-2013 he was ambassador to Germany and part-time to Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Spain.

Dilshod Akhatov replaced Nabijon Kasimov, who served as ambassador to Berlin in 2017-2023.
