Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the UK Ravshan Usmanov arrived in London, Dunyo news agency reports.
Since 2018, he has been ambassador to Malaysia. He is 45 years old. He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham (UK), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State Law Institute (now a university).
He began working in the foreign policy department in 2000 and held various positions in the central office and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain. Then he headed the Foreign Ministry’s Directorate for Cooperation with European Countries and NATO. He worked as ambassador to France, as well as part-time in Italy and Portugal.
Ravshan Usmanov replaced Said Rustamov, who served as ambassador to London since 2019.
