Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to systematically implement the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture, the central office of the Ministry of Agriculture launched the Project Management Office to introduce an effective mechanism for project implementation, develop the value chain and accelerate the transformation processes in the industry.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan begins to train personnel in project management for the correct distribution of forces and building competencies.

Management of the activities of the Office is entrusted to the newly created Coordinating Committee for Strategic Development with the participation of leading international experts and consultants.

The office will be engaged in the formation and regular updating of a portfolio of priority projects aimed at developing the agricultural and food sectors for consideration and approval by the Committee.

It is planned to finance the approved projects at the expense of donor funds from international financial institutions, credit lines from commercial banks, the state budget and other funds.

The office will continuously monitor the progress of the projects with the provision of quarterly information to the Committee.
