The Minister of ICT visits the Nukus branch of TUIT and takes part in the opening ceremony of the IT incubation center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 7 February, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov visited the Nukus branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.

At the beginning of the visit, Minister of ICT Sherzod Shermatov took part in the opening ceremony of the IT incubation center at the Nukus branch of TUIT.

As part of the opening ceremony of the center, the head of the industry got acquainted with the conditions created in the IT incubation center. This center is equipped with modern computers and high-speed Internet. It organizes classrooms for programming, robotics, as well as for chess and checkers.

After that, a presentation of developments created by university students took place. Recommendations were given on their implementation into full-fledged projects, the establishment of their production and export.

During the visit, the Minister of ICT Sherzod Shermatov got directly acquainted with the activities and future plans of the Nukus branch of TUIT.

The Nukus branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies was established as a regional branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 30, 2002.

At present, two faculties are organized in the Nukus branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. 1870 students are studying in seven areas of bachelor’s degree, three areas of master’s degree and three areas of correspondence education. 71 teachers work at the university, including 4 doctors of sciences, 18 candidates of sciences. The scientific potential of the Nukus branch of TUIT is 30.1 percent.

During the visit, a conversation with students was also organized. During the conversation, topical issues of interest to young people were discussed in detail. Young people expressed their opinions and suggestions.
