The meeting with the Director General of the Indian Council of International Affairs takes place at the International Institute for Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the International Institute for Central Asia with the Director General of the Indian Council of International Affairs, Ambassador Vijay Thakur Singh.

The Indian side was also represented by Council members - Dr. Atar Zafar, specializing in SCO issues, and Dr. Punit Gaur, focusing on the study of the Central Asian region.

At the beginning of the conversation, Vijay Thakur Singh highly appreciated the existing relations between India and the countries of Central Asia. "We highly value our relations with the region and recognize their historical depth. Central Asia has always been a very important political region for us," noted the Ambassador.

During the meeting, the sides also familiarized each other with the main directions of foreign policy of the two countries and the activities of their institutes.

It was noted that the Indian Council of International Affairs has been India’s leading analytical center since 1943. The Council is dedicated to studying international relations and foreign policy. The Ambassador emphasized that since 2001, the Indian Council of International Affairs has been declared an institution of national importance.

At the end of the meeting, Vijay Thakur Singh expressed hope for further enhancement of cooperation between organizations on priority research areas.
