The management of the Veon was invited to increase the volume of investments in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, 6 May, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Executive Director of the Veon group of companies Kaan Terzioglu.

The meeting was also attended by former Serbian President Boris Tadic.

At the meeting, Minister of ICT Sh. Shermatov noted the opportunities created in our country to further develop the market for the provision of telecommunications services, attract investment in the field, in particular, for the effective operation of mobile communication companies. 

It was especially noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev set before the Ministry to turn Uzbekistan into a regional IT center, and by the end of this year to bring the export of IT products and services to one hundred million dollars. 

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the introduction of information and communication technologies and the further development of cooperation.

Currently, with the participation of the Veon group of companies, projects are being carried out to modernize equipment and create amenities for users. 

The parties noted the high potential for the development of cooperation and expressed their readiness to mobilize all efforts to develop partnerships in the field of information technology.

The issue of the direct participation of the Veon in the implementation of projects for the development of BPO (business process outsourcing) and KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) services through the employment of local youth was also considered.

During the meeting, promising areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed, in particular, the expansion of multilateral cooperation and other important issues.
