Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 September, the leadership of the National Social Protection Agency met with representatives of the World Bank delegation led by the head of the Global Practice for Social Protection and Labor in the regions of Europe and Central Asia, Paolo Belli.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of the social protection system in Uzbekistan, improving social assistance programs and implementing joint projects.

Issues of improving the system of providing social services, developing rehabilitation and social adaptation for persons with disabilities, as well as improving the provision of prosthetic and orthopedic products and technical means of rehabilitation were also raised. An exchange of views was carried out regarding the improvement of the system of social payments.

This meeting was the first within the framework of the World Bank mission to strengthen social protection, which will last until September 15.
