Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second session of the Senate, the Law "On anti-corruption expertise of regulatory legal acts and their drafts" was considered.

It was noted that at present, the conduct of anti-corruption expertise of legal acts and their drafts is regulated not by law, but by a regulation approved by order of the Ministry of Justice. This creates the ground for corruption gaps in legislative acts.

This Law is designed as a single law that regulates this area, while eliminating the above problems. The law establishes the basic principles of anti-corruption expertise of legal acts and their drafts.

Now anti-corruption expertise is carried out not only by the justice authorities, but also by the Anti-Corruption Agency, legal services of state bodies and organizations, as well as state bodies and organizations entrusted with ensuring the implementation of legal acts.Also, non-governmental non-profit organizations, citizens' self-government bodies and the media are granted the right to conduct a public examination of regulatory legal acts.

It is noteworthy that the proposals and recommendations submitted by the public are necessarily considered by the relevant state bodies and organizations.

The Ministry of Justice is entrusted with methodological support and monitoring of anti-corruption expertise.

According to the senators, this Law serves to further improve the legal framework for combating corruption in our country, prevent corruption cases, as well as improve the quality of existing and adopted regulatory legal acts.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
