Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the next meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, deputies are considering in the first reading the draft law “On Telecommunications” in a new edition.

This bill creates several conveniences for the population and entities operating in the field of telecommunications.

In particular, according to the project, a license to operate in the field of telecommunications is no longer required when providing services through applications of a bank, payment system, payment organization, as well as e-commerce platforms.

To date, some of the newly built multi-storey buildings have had to be reconstructed due to the lack of appropriate infrastructure. To prevent this, the presence of modern telecommunications infrastructure will be mandatory during the construction of buildings and structures.

The adoption of the bill will serve to increase the coverage and quality of services by creating the possibility of efficient use of telecommunications infrastructure. And as a result of expanding access to the Internet, the population will be able to actively use government services and conduct e-commerce.

The bill was adopted by deputies conceptually in the first reading.
