Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second plenary session of the Senate, senators discussed the Law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

This Law was developed by a group of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on the basis of a legislative initiative, taking into account the realities of the present time, proposals and demands of citizens.

It was noted that taking into account the fact that today the authority of our country is increasing on the world stage, especially great victories are achieved in the fields of culture, sports and science and the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan is raised high in the world, there was a need to further expand the possibilities of its use.

Based on this need, the current Law is supplemented by several new norms.

In particular, the Law introduces amendments and additions that provide for the possibility of using the State Flag while ensuring respect for it at sports competitions, mass sports events, cultural and other public events, official international events, family holidays, celebrations of memorable dates, public and state funerals. figures, military personnel and in other cases.

The population is also given ample opportunity to use signs with the image of the flag.

In particular, it stipulates the possibility of using the flag in public places, buildings and other facilities, places of residence or work, in the interior of vehicles, at official international events, on clothes and insignia of persons in military or another public service, in the preparation of sportswear to international sports competitions and championships of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In addition, it is established that the use of the flag and symbols representing its image is not allowed in violation of the rules of ethics and rules of conduct in society or in any other way that is their desecration.

In turn, members of the Senate noted that the changes and additions made in the process of discussing the Law serve to expand the use of the State Flag and strengthen the feelings of love, pride and patriotism among the population, especially among young people, towards their country, most importantly, contributes to so that our people would be in closer relation with the flag.

The law was approved by the senators.
