The International School of Young Scientists and Historians of the CIS Countries was held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International School of Young Scientists and Historians of the CIS Countries “Historical Texts: The Culture of Their Creation and Interpretation” was held in Tashkent, reports the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

About 80 young historians and teachers, representing leading scientific and educational historical centers from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, took part in the work of the school.

The theme of the summer school included consideration of a wide range of problems relating to the culture of creating and interpreting historical texts. The tradition and culture of transmitting historical information in the CIS countries has deep roots. The regional and ethno-cultural characteristics of this vast space have determined striking differences in the tradition of creating texts, which is reflected not only in their great variety of types and genres, but also in the forms of transmission of the information contained in them.

The school allowed historians from different countries of the Commonwealth to introduce each other to the features of national historical sources, discuss the forms and methods of their creation and dissemination.

No less relevant is the issue related to culture and ways of interpreting historical texts in different ethno-confessional, social and political conditions. In this regard, a discussion took place within the school aimed at identifying the common and special in the culture of interpretation of historical texts in the Commonwealth space in the broadest chronological context.

The meeting was organized by the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Financial and organizational support was provided to the organizers by the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and the International Association of Historians and Archivists of the CIS Member States.
