Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzcharmsanot Association, in collaboration with the State Committee for Family and Women’s Affairs, the Aegean University of Turkey, the Technical University of Crete in Greece, the University of Northampton in the UK, and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, organized the 1st International Competition young designers in the field of construction, technology and design of shoes, clothing and items made of leather and fur UZCHARM STYLE-2023.

The main goal of the competition, held in order to further develop the integration of science and production, is to identify and encourage talented designers of shoes, clothing, leather and fur products, improve the status of the designer profession, and create effective interaction between designers and industrial enterprises.

It is worth noting that this competition has been held among the creative youth of Uzbekistan for several years now, but since 2023 it has acquired international status. 93 applications were received to participate in the competition. Young designers from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Russia presented their creative works. The panel of judges for the competition also had an international composition. The creative works of young people were assessed by professors, technologists and designers from universities in Greece, Turkey, Romania, Sweden and Uzbekistan.

The competition was held in 7 categories:

- “Best design of men's shoes”;

- “Best design of women's shoes”;

- “Best design of children's and teenage shoes”;

- “Best design of leather goods and accessories”;

- “Best design of sporting goods”;

- “Best design of men's and women's leather clothing;

- “Best fur clothing design.”

The authors of the best works that won prizes were awarded diplomas, statuettes and valuable prizes, and their creative developments were proposed for implementation at enterprises in Uzbekistan.
