Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers from 5 September 2018, the property complex of the Afrosiyob Palace State Unitary Enterprise was planned to be sold to the Singapore company EXIM Investments Pte Ltd with the obligation to pay the existing debts of the enterprise, investing US$12 million and the creation of 100 new jobs.

Due to the fact that the investor did not fulfill the obligations specified in the contract in a timely manner, the Samarkand Regional Territorial Administration of the State Asset Management Agency on February 19, 2020 filed a lawsuit with the Economic Court and by a court decision of 11 May 2020, the sale and purchase agreement concluded between the parties was terminated.

In accordance with the decision of the meeting of the Samarkand territorial tender commission from 31 August 2020, the hotel complex was re-put up for auction at the established price with the existing investment and social obligations.
