The highest awards of the “7 Steps” program of the Environmental Education Foundation were presented

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the Eco-schools Uzbekistan project, a solemn presentation of the highest award of the “7 Steps” Program of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) - the Green Flag - took place.

After an audit conducted by FEE representatives, for the first time, 2 schools in Uzbekistan received the prestigious international environmental award: the specialized school named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi and school No. 81 in Tashkent, on whose territory the event took place.

The award ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zamin Foundation Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, heads of the EU, UN and its structural divisions in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, and the Youth Agency.

Ziroat Mirziyoyeva sincerely congratulated the eco-schoolchildren on receiving the Green Flag - a symbol of Sustainable Development and said: “We have one country. One planet. One task is to preserve it. We all need to work together. And seeing how active you are today, I believe that our future is in good hands.”

An eco-educational mini-festival was organized on the school grounds, which was prepared by participants of all Tashkent project schools Eco-schools Uzbekistan. Everyone was able to watch the process of making essential oils and marshmallows, the creation of equipment for waste sorting, energy saving and rational use of water, look into the greenhouse, see the laboratory process of studying the soil and the vermicompost created by the children themselves, which enriches the soil and saves water during irrigation.
