Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the first day of his stay, the head of the Olympic delegation of Uzbekistan - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov visited the Koenji sports hall in Tokyo’s Suginami district, where the Uzbek national boxing team carries out pre-Olympic training.

The Suginami district, within the framework of the "Host Town" program of the Japanese Government in preparation for the Tokyo Olympic Games, organized pre-Olympic training for Uzbek boxers from July 5 to 21, 2021 at a high level.

The city administration also in every possible way assists the Uzbek side in organizing events for the presentation of the new Uzbekistan. In particular, the performance of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan in the Uzbek language by the chorus in the amount of 50 students of the Takaido city school made a splash on the Internet.

At present, the cultural, humanitarian and sports cooperation of Uzbekistan with this Japanese region is actively developing. It should also be noted that in recent years, a number of cultural and sports events dedicated to the culture and art of Uzbekistan, as well as the Great Silk Road, have been successfully held in Suginami.

The head of the delegation got acquainted with the living conditions, food and sports training of our athletes.

In order to raise the sports spirit and fighting spirit of the athletes, Aziz Abdukhakimov talked with the boxers, to whom he conveyed the words of support of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was especially emphasized that the leadership and people of Uzbekistan pin their greatest hopes on boxers.

In turn, the boxers expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the created conditions and assured them of their readiness to give all their strength to justify the hopes of the Leader and the people of the republic.

As part of the event, a meeting was also held with the mayor of the area Ryo Tanaka, during which gratitude was expressed for the hospitality and conditions created for our athletes. They also discussed issues of bilateral socio-economic, cultural, humanitarian and sports interaction.

The parties agreed to intensify bilateral cooperation outside the framework of the Olympics in areas of mutual interest.
