The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan holds a series of negotiations in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov is in the Russian Federation on a business visit.

During the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan held a number of meetings and negotiations with Russian organizations.

On 11 April, a meeting was held with the head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) Sergei Dankvert.

At the meeting, problems arising when exporting beekeeping products from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation and measures to solve them were discussed.

Also during the meeting, a number of beneficial agreements were reached. In particular, the issues of creating a scientific center on the territory of Uzbekistan and special quarantine zones in Namangan, Jizzakh and Tashkent regions were considered.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergei Katyrin to discuss issues of expanding cooperation.

The heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Russia discussed issues of participation of Russian enterprises in the international industrial exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia”, which will take place in Tashkent in April 2024.

The parties considered issues that will be raised at a joint meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council, planned as part of the exhibition.

The Uzbek side presented samples of marble stones produced in the country during the meeting.

As a result of the dialogue, a plan for joint events of the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries was considered.

On 12 April, Davron Vakhabov met with the managing director of the e-commerce company OZON in Moscow, Sergei Belyakov.

OZON has been developing its business in the CIS countries since 2021 and has its own logistics infrastructure in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The market offers more than 20 product categories, including books, clothing, food and health products. According to Forbes Russia, OZON became the most popular franchise in Russia in 2023.

During the meeting, issues of developing e-commerce in Uzbekistan, training entrepreneurs with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attracting new partners and promoting Uzbek products through the OZON platform were discussed.

Davron Vakhabov also presented to OZON representatives the main areas of activity of industry and industrial associations of Uzbekistan and put forward a proposal for cooperation.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to open showrooms for building materials, electrical engineering, and textile products under the “Made in Uzbekistan” label on the Russian market, as well as to organize joint work.
