Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev ordered the dismissal of the head of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency Murat Mirzayev.

A video conference meeting on priorities in the field of investment, exports and international cooperation for 2024 is being chaired by the President.

The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency has been criticized for limiting its activities to forums and noted for its lack of investment maps by district.

The President of Uzbekistan ordered the dismissal of the head of the agency, Murat Mirzaev, from his post.

Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev has been instructed to present an updated investment program, taking into account last year’s lags by region and industry.

Three deputy investment ministers have also been appointed, responsible for attracting investment in sectors requiring significant foreign investment, health and transport.

At the meeting, the management of the complex, as well as heads of industries and regions, expressed their plans to attract investments totaling US$38 billion, while the Ministry of Energy plans to attract an additional US$15 billion.
