Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A girl from Uzbekistan, left without parental care in Russia, was returned to her homeland, the press service of the Children’s Ombudsman reported.

In March, the office of the Children’s Ombudsman received an appeal from Tashkent resident V.D. with a request to help return her two-year-old granddaughter Z.N., who was under guardianship in Lyubertsy, Moscow region.

According to the Children’s Ombudsman, the girl’s mother, Z.A., left her with a nanny and did not return. The nanny contacted the police, after which the child was transferred to the guardianship authorities and registered as abandoned, receiving a new first and last name.

Thanks to prompt measures taken by the National Social Protection Agency and the Ministries of Foreign and Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, the girl was returned from Russia.
