Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A video conference was held with representatives of the French development agency (The Agence Française de Développement, AFD). 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Ministry of Energy, the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, the Agency for Hydrometeorological Service, the Agency for State Assets Management, and the Agency for Strategic Reforms.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov informed the audience about the current state of large-scale reforms being carried out in the country to develop the "green" economy.

Specialist in public finance management of the AFD Com Dechery noted that at the moment a number of promising joint projects between the government of Uzbekistan are being effectively implemented. One of them is the development of the "green" economy of the country. This includes the introduction of environmentally friendly, resource-saving technologies in Uzbekistan, the further expansion of cooperation in the field of "green finance", "green" taxation, and the widespread attraction of investments in the "green" economy, Kom Deshery said.

Representatives of the AFD also reported that the mission to prepare sub-program 2 “Green Economy Policy Lending Program” is currently being discussed with the relevant ministries and departments in Tashkent.

The main topic of discussion is the matrix of political and technical support measures, expansion of cooperation in the field of "green finance".

An exchange of views took place on attracting foreign and domestic experts in the field of forecasting the "green" economy to achieve all the goals set in the "matrix" by the end of this year.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize further meetings for a detailed discussion of these projects.
