The fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Azerbaijan Business Council was held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the II Uzbek-Azerbaijan interregional forum, held in the city of Guba of the Azerbaijan Republic, the 4th meeting of the Council of Entrepreneurs was held.

The event was attended by the acting deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Umid Pazilkhanov, the President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan Mamed Musayev, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, heads of industry associations “Uzavtosanoat”, “Uzkimyosanoat”, “Uztogimachiliksanoat”, “Uzsanoatkurilishmateriallar”, and also representatives of the business circles of the two countries.

The main purpose of the meeting was to strengthen bilateral relations between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Participants discussed the development of trade, economic, investment and regional cooperation, as well as improving trade in export products.

Particular attention was paid to expanding economic partnership in areas of priority for both countries and intensifying mutual cooperation between business circles. In recent years, the number of joint ventures has increased 5 times. Today, more than 240 enterprises with the participation of Azerbaijani capital operate in Uzbekistan. Joint ventures have been established in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in such areas as the production of passenger cars, the textile and silkworm industries, the production of plasterboard and jewelry.

Following the meeting, further joint actions were identified aimed at identifying new points of intersection of mutual interests and expanding mutually beneficial investment cooperation.
