Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhaa, following high-level negotiations, made statements to representatives of the media.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the dialogue, which took place in an open and business-like atmosphere. They emphasized the significance of the first-ever state visit by the President of Mongolia to Uzbekistan in their bilateral relations’ history, symbolizing mutual aspirations to strengthen friendship and expand multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

President Mirziyoyev underscored that Uzbekistan’s relations with Mongolia are founded on principles of friendship, mutual respect, and support, immune to temporary fluctuations.

Following meetings in Samarkand and Dubai, contacts intensified at all levels, establishing a systematic political dialogue.

The opening of Mongolia’s embassy in Tashkent will further strengthen diplomatic relations.

Economic cooperation is also actively progressing, with discussions on projects to increase trade turnover and industrial cooperation underway. Plans include the opening of trade houses and holding industrial exhibitions in the capitals of both countries.

Special attention is being given to the development of transport corridors and trade facilitation. Agreements have been signed on air and road transport, with discussions ongoing regarding direct flights between Tashkent and Ulaanbaatar.

Overall, the leaders have agreed upon a new agenda for comprehensive cooperation, encompassing areas such as culture, education, tourism, and industry. Concrete projects in resource extraction and processing, agriculture, light industry, and pharmaceuticals have been prepared.

Based on the agreements reached, a roadmap will be developed for the subsequent implementation and monitoring of joint projects and initiatives.

President Mirziyoyev noted that the first visit of the President of Mongolia to Uzbekistan has set the stage for a new phase of cooperation between the two countries, which will soon yield practical results.
