Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 1 June, on the basis of the Silk Road International Tourism University, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the initiative of the Hoteliers Association, the first practical seminar was organized for heads of hotels in the city of Samarkand.
The event was opened by the deputy khokim of Samarkand region, the head of the Main Department of Tourism and Sports of the region Botirjon Nurullaev, who noted the importance of this event for all hotel owners.
It was noted at the event that 8 new large hotels are planned to open in the new tourist center of Samarkand in 2022 - Samarkand Regency (Amir Temur), Silk Road by Minyoun, Stars of Ulughbek by Lia Minyoun, Savitsky Plaza, Bekhzod, Navruz, Sogd, Alisher Navoiy , which will lead to increased competition. And all hotels, in order to compete with such "giants", need to "keep pace with the times" and constantly work to improve the quality of services provided, implement modern IT solutions, and automate the booking system.
The event was attended by TravelLine, which develops online solutions for the hotel business, as well as a representative of the American brand of professional household chemicals Ecolab.
It is worth noting that in 2021 the tourism industry faces many challenges: increasing tourist flow to the country, including in the off-season, attracting private investment in the industry, building new hotels, recreation areas, training personnel, introducing advanced digital technologies into business processes. Developing answers to these challenges with the involvement of all stakeholders will set the right vector for large-scale and high-quality changes in the industry and unite the professional community
Also, within the framework of this event, a new Department "University 4.0" based on the university was presented, the task of which is to organize the infrastructure for the creation and commercialization of knowledge, as well as to assist in the rebranding and proper promotion of hotels and restaurants.
The event became a platform for discussing current trends in the field of hospitality, bringing together leading international experts, as well as hoteliers from the entire Samarkand region.
