The first performance of the Ural Ballet takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 February, the first performance of the Ural Ballet took place as part of the International Opera and Ballet Festival.

The troupe presented an Evening of One-Act Ballets - an almanac including four ballets.

The ballet “Naples, or the Fisherman and his Bride” was composed by the Dane August Bournonville. At the premiere in 1842, Bournonville’s choreography seemed too fast, too mental to the audience. Now this is a classic of world choreography.

The second part of the evening consisted of two new works. This is a miniature “Terzetto” by Alexander Merkushev, which is an example of modern high-speed classical dance. And also the production of the director of the Ural Ballet Maxim Petrov “Noon” to the music of Debussy.

The evening ended with “Salieri Variations” - one of the best works by Vyacheslav Samodurov, a modern image of the ancient “white ballet”.

The International Opera and Ballet Festival is held with the support of the Art and Culture Foundation Development of Uzbekistan.
