Speaking at the “United for Peace in Palestine” summit, First Lady of Uzbekistan Ziroat Mirziyoyeva expressed deep condolences to the families and relatives of all victims of the armed conflict.

She noted that the terrible events that have been taking place in the Gaza Strip for more than a month, where thousands of people have died, especially innocent children, old people and women, cannot be justified in any way.

“Unfortunately, despite strong protest and pressure from the international community, the scale of destruction and death toll has increased to unprecedented levels with no end in sight. As a result, the possibility of drawing new forces in the region into this conflict increases,” said the First Lady of Uzbekistan.

The people of Uzbekistan are deeply saddened by the hardships and grief that befell the civilian population of Palestine, said Ziroat Mirziyoyeva.

The First Lady called on both sides to immediately stop hostilities, create the possibility of delivering humanitarian aid to people in difficult situations, and resolve the conflict only peacefully and diplomatically based on the principle of “two states for two peoples.” Thus, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva confirmed Uzbekistan’s firm position on this issue.

It was noted that Uzbekistan is united with the Palestinian people and fully supports their right to create an independent state in accordance with UN resolutions.
