The final stage of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Cup takes place in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 28 September 2019, on the territory of the Republican Rowing Canal in Samarkand, the 3rd final stage of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Cup was held, organized by Vatanparvar with the support of the Uzbekistan Triathlon Federation. The general sponsor of the competition was Coca-Cola Uzbekistan.

The competition was attended by 103 athletes from all regions of the republic. Competitions were held among three age categories: 16-18 years old (juniors), 19-21 years old, 22 years old and older. Juniors covered the sprint distance: 750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running, while men and women 19 years and older covered the Olympic distance, which includes 1.5 km of the swimming stage, 40 km of cycling and 10 km running. It is worth noting that for the first time a paratriathlete took part in the triathlon Cup of Uzbekistan: Rustamjon Sotiboldiev from Andijan region covered the sprint distance.

Competitions were held to identify the strongest triathletes, after which it is planned to form national teams of Uzbekistan to participate in international starts.

According to the results of all three stages, the winners of the Uzbekistan Cup in triathlon 2019 were identified. In the team event, the winner was the national team of the city of Tashkent, the second and third places were taken by the teams of Navoi and Kashkadarya regions.

Triathlon is a multi-sport race consisting of continuous and sequential passage of three stages by its participants: swimming, cycling and running.

Championship at the Uzbekistan Cup stage is determined by the best result shown by athletes in each age group. The winners and prize-winners of the Uzbekistan Cup are the athletes who scored the highest total points awarded for the sum of the three stages of the competition.
