The festival of mountain resorts of Eurasia takes place for the first time at Rosa Khutor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Festival of Mountain Resorts of Eurasia begins its work in Sochi on 13 March.

The festival was organised by the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts (EAMC).

The festival will include professional discussions, cultural and educational events.

The festival will be the first event of the EAMC, bringing together specialists from the ski industry of Eurasian countries. It is dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Sochi Olympics, which is celebrated this year.

On 13 March, the forum will begin its work. The first event will be a discussion session on the topic “Sustainable development of tourism in specially protected areas (SPNA)”.

Participants will discuss issues of industry policy and regulation, national characteristics and common challenges, approaches to planning and implementing tourism infrastructure development projects, aspects of organizing partnerships between environmental and tourism communities, and the experience of Russian reform of tourism legislation in protected areas.

The business program of this day will continue with discussions by industry professionals, including representatives of instructors and rescue services of mountain resorts.

On 14 March, an opening ceremony of the festival will take place on the Alley of Flags in the Mountain Olympic Village.

Then instructors from Eurasian mountain resort teams will demonstrate their skiing skills on demonstration slopes on the "Men's Olympic Descent" track (1600 m).

The business program of this day includes a round table on the topic “Joint development of mountain tourism in Eurasian countries.” 

Leaders of the leading mountain resorts in Eurasia will discuss the main ways of cooperation and problems of interaction.

Also on this day of the festival, several interactive lectures are planned by the Corporate University of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts on the topics: “The concept of global security: marketing and services”, “Marketing of impressions”, “Development of competencies”. In the evening, a national culinary festival of Eurasian countries will take place.

On 15 March, thematic master classes and presentations of resorts will be held as part of the event. The Competence Center in the field of tourism of Roskachestvo will hold a session “On the creation of an integrated quality system for tourism services of the EAMC.”

The festival will end on 16 March, when the participating teams of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts will sum up their work and discuss further strategic plans.

It is expected that about 150 guests from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan will take part in the festival.

The Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts (EAMC) was created in June 2023.

The mountain resorts Rosa Khutor (Russia), Shymbulak (Kazakhstan) and Amirsoy (Uzbekistan) became its founders.

The goal of the EAMC is to provide a platform for the strategic development of tourism in the Eurasian space, professional communication, promotion of best practices and brands of mountain resorts.

In November 2023, the Shahdag resort (Azerbaijan) joined the EAMC.

The main goals of the alliance are to promote all-season mountain tourism and popularize an active lifestyle, exchange necessary information and best practices, improve the professional qualifications of mountain workers, and develop common approaches to safety standards.

The headquarters of the alliance is located in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
