The Embassy of Uzbekistan organizes negotiations of the Uzeltehsanoat Association with Malaysian colleagues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia on Friday organized negotiations via video communication between representatives of The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) and the Uzeltekhsanoat Association, Dunyo news agency reported.

Founded in 1952, TEEAM is engaged in the development of the electrical industry in Malaysia and unites 1,700 enterprises.

During the negotiations, the Uzeltehsanoat Association organized a presentation on the reforms carried out by the Government of Uzbekistan for the further development and support of enterprises operating in the electrical industry, as well as further plans to create an appropriate cluster in Tashkent.

TEEAM International Cooperation Director Suresh Kumar shared information about the Malaysian experience in the development of this industry, the opportunities created by the host country government to conduct research work, including jointly with foreign specialized institutes, special zones to support manufacturers of electrical products.

Suresh Kumar highlighted the importance of developing smart technologies and introducing energy efficient equipment in all industries, which will undoubtedly contribute to ensuring the competitiveness of the industrial sector of the country’s economy.

Following the negotiations, the following agreements were reached:

- on the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the parties to determine specific areas of cooperation;

- sending by the Malaysian side of detailed information about the Malaysian experience in creating clusters, including on the example of the Penang Science Cluster;

- establishment of cooperation to promote Uzbek electrical products, including smart meters for electricity metering, transformers and others, in the Malaysian market through TEEAM member companies;

- consideration of the possibility of organizing joint projects to organize production in this direction by attracting Malaysian technologies and equipment to Uzbekistan.
