Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the closing ceremony of the international forum, international, regional and national experience and approaches to the protection and promotion of youth rights were discussed. The scope of application of current international and regional documents and mechanisms for the protection and promotion of youth rights was analyzed.

Аt the 78th session of the UN General Assembly held recently in New York, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan decided to establish a working group at the UN to support the development of Central Asian youth. suggested. This initiative is a clear example of the highest level of interest in the provision and implementation of youth rights in the Central Asian region.

Taking into account that almost half of the population in Central Asia is made up of young people, issues related to the realization of the young generation's potential are of particular importance. The participation of the youth of the Central Asian countries in the world conference organized in Tashkent is one of the main features of this forum.

On September 14, 2023, the President of Uzbekistan paid special attention to the youth policy of the Central Asian countries at the fifth consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries held in Dushanbe. The head of our state proposed to establish a center for expanding the opportunities of the youth of Central Asia and realizing their potential with the participation of international organizations in this direction in order to unite efforts to develop the knowledge and skills of young people, prepare them as mature qualified personnel and ensure their employment.

At the end of the consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries held in Dushanbe on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, another important practical step was taken to ensure the interests of the youth of the region. That is, an agreement on general directions of youth policy was signed between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The participants of the forum suggested ways to improve the effectiveness of mechanisms and opportunities for the protection of youth rights. The main problems faced by young people in fully realizing their rights were highlighted.

Specific recommendations were put forward to develop ways and means of improving the legal, administrative and political frameworks for the integration of youth rights into the policies of all countries. It was noted that such a practical approach would make a significant contribution to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

On this basis, the final document of the international forum - the Central Asian Declaration on Youth Rights was developed and discussed. It was expressed confidence that this important document, embodying the main results and practical recommendations of the forum, will serve as a solid foundation for new efforts and advanced initiatives in the field of youth rights in the future.
