Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the regular plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, a bill aimed at strengthening the protection of rare and endangered species of plants and animals listed in the Red Book was considered in the second reading.

In recent years, the country has been systematically working on environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, and protection of flora and fauna.

The new edition of the Constitution reflects norms on environmental protection, in particular, protection of the environment, flora and fauna.

The draft law envisages amendments and additions to the laws “On the protection and use of flora,” “On the protection and use of wildlife,” and “On hunting and game management.”

That is, it is envisaged to establish requirements prohibiting and limiting the use of rare and endangered species of plants and animals listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The adoption of the bill will serve to preserve, reproduce and protect the habitat of species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as their preservation for future generations.

The draft law was adopted by deputies.
