Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 May, the "Constituent Assembly of the Geographical Council of the Turkic States" (hereinafter referred to as the Council) is being held in Tashkent.

It is attended by the heads of the Geographical Societies of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, as well as representatives of the Organization of Turkic States.

Representatives of foreign countries highly appreciated the reforms carried out in the field of science, culture, tourism and ecology, carried out in our country by the President.

From 10-11 November 2022 in the city of Samarkand, within the framework of the Summit of the Heads of States of the Organization of Turkic Speaking Countries, goals were set for the further development of mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation in various fields of activity. In this regard, in order to implement the tasks of strengthening cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries in the fields of innovation, ecology, tourism, cultural and humanitarian areas, this Council was created, which is aimed at implementing projects to fulfill the tasks set.

As part of the meeting on the establishment of the Council, a document was signed defining the future plans and goals of the newly established Council, and opinions were discussed on coordinating the activities of the Council. Oybek Kabulzhanovich Norinbaev, head of the Geographical Society of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was elected Chairman of the Council.

The main task of the Council is to unite efforts to carry out joint actions aimed at assisting all organizations and institutions engaged in theoretical or practical work in the field of geography, local history and related sciences, as well as coordinating scientific, theoretical or practical work of the population in this area, wide distribution of geographical and environmental knowledge, as well as advanced scientific ideas, scientific achievements, identifying the problems of protecting the nature of countries and actively participating in their elimination.
