Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 August, an award ceremony was held at the Ministry of Sports Development for the coaches of the winning athletes and prize-winners of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games Konya-2021.
As is known, the Head of State signed the resolution of the President “On the encouragement of one-time cash rewards for athletes who became winners and prize-winners of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in the city of Konya (Turkey), as well as their coaches.”
The award ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Adkham Ikramov, Vice-Chairmen of the National Olympic Committee Azizjon Kamilov and Sherzod Tashmatov. At the beginning of the event, A. Ikramov especially noted the achievements of domestic athletes and the merits of their mentors.
After that, the coaches of the athletes-winners and prize-winners of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games were solemnly awarded with one-time monetary rewards.
In Games, held in Turkiye, Uzbek athletes with 158 awards (51 gold, 42 silver, 65 bronze) took second place in the team event. This achievement went down in history as the highest result of the sports delegation of Uzbekistan in complex competitions.
