Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft law on crime prevention has been submitted for discussion. The discussion of the project will last until 8 June 2023, Norma reports.

The project is aimed at unifying legislation in the field of crime prevention. Thus, the draft, the norms of the Law "On the prevention of neglect and delinquency among minors" and the Law "On the prevention of delinquency" are combined into a single law.

According to the project, the circle of persons in respect of whom preventive records are kept is being reduced. It is planned to cancel the application of this measure to persons in relation to whose criminal case was terminated without resolving the issue of guilt; those who have committed minor offenses, etc.

If this law is adopted, preventive records will be terminated for over 368.6 thousand persons (more than 57.6% of all persons for whom this measure is established).
