Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The leadership of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC).
During the meeting, KDIC representatives shared South Korea’s experience in protecting depositors’ rights, providing detailed insights into the mechanisms and legal foundations of their system.
The representatives from Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, in turn, presented the current deposit protection system in the country. They provided information about the activities of the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Citizens’ Deposits in Banks, clarified banks’ obligations to the Fund, and explained the procedure for compensation payments on citizens’ deposits.
Additionally, the Korean delegation was briefed on key aspects of the revised draft law "On Guarantees for the Protection of Citizens’ Deposits in Banks," which reflects Uzbekistan’s commitment to enhancing depositor protection mechanisms.
