Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) analyzes the situation on the automobile market of Uzbekistan on a monthly basis.

By the end of September, sales of all vehicles decreased with a decline by 0.1% by August and amounted to 148 thousand and with an increase by 20% by September last year.

Passenger cars

Sales of passenger cars in August amounted to 137 thousand, an increase of only 1% over the month.

The largest growth was observed in Ferghana (+19%), Namangan (+9%) and Khorezm (+5%) regions.

In general, sales of passenger cars increased by 18% compared to September last year.

According to the results of the Q3 of 2023, passenger car sales increased by 26% to 404 thousand.

The situation in the primary passenger car market

Sales of passenger cars in the primary market increased by 1.4% over the month. Compared to the same period last year, 10 thousand more passenger cars were sold with an increase of 37%.

The most noticeable growth in the three quarters was recorded in the passenger car segment, as sales increased by 68.8%.

During the month, sales of new domestic passenger cars increased by 4.2% and exceeded 33 thousand.

The market of passenger cars

The situation on the market of new foreign-made passenger cars, on the contrary, shows a decline. So, for the month, sales went down by 16% and amounted to 4.6 thousand cars.

The situation in the secondary market

The secondary market began to grow in September. Sales of used passenger cars exceeded 98 thousand cars, which is 800 cars more than a month earlier.

According to the results of the third quarter of this year, sales of passenger cars in the secondary market increased by 15.5%.

Electric vehicles market

In September, sales of passenger electric vehicles fell and amounted to 3.6 thousand, which is 20 thousand cars less than a month earlier. Whereas compared to last year, the electric car market has grown 6 times.

During the month, the least electric vehicles were sold in the Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Surkhandarya regions.

According to the results of the third quarter of this year, sales of passenger electric vehicles amounted to almost 10 thousand, with an annual growth of 5 times.

If the primary market of electric vehicles for the month decreased by 2%, then on the contrary, the secondary market of electric cars for September added 8.5%.
