The Anti-Corruption Agency takes measures against officials involved in business activities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Anti-Corruption Agency has taken measures against civil servants engaged in business activities.

The officials abandoned their businesses but avoided responsibility since the relevant law has not yet entered into force.

The agency provided a list of officials who owned businesses contrary to the law.

During the study, it was found that the following civil servants are founders or shareholders of business entities:

- General Director of the Central Securities Depository Sherali Abduzhabbarov;

- Khokim of the Mirabad district of Tashkent Ashraf Salaidinov;

- Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency Abdushukur Sadykov;

- Director of the Main Information Center Dilshod Sarykhodzhaev;

- Khokim of Buston district, Andijan region Sanobarkhon Nosirova;

- Deputy Minister of Energy Umid Mamadaminov;

- Director of the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry Abdulla Azizov.

In connection with the identified cases, measures were taken to eliminate conflicts of interest and terminate constituent or management activities.

The Law “On Conflict of Interest,” adopted by the Legislative Chamber in October 2022 and approved by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis in early June 2023, has not yet been signed by the president. In this regard, there is currently no liability for conflicts of interest.
