The annual international congress “Hydropower. Central Asia and the Caspian Sea" takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13-15 March, the eighth annual international congress and exhibition “Hydropower. Central Asia and the Caspian Sea", which is a traditional event in the hydropower industry.

It must be emphasized that this international authoritative conference is being held in our country for the second time (we recall that Uzbekistan was the host of this international conference in February 2021).

This conference is a professional platform for dialogue, exchange of experience, search for solutions and consolidation of efforts for the effective implementation of a number of projects for the construction and modernization of hydroelectric power plants in the region, solving problems and identifying promising tasks in this industry.

The main participants of the congress are representatives of the regions of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea - Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Turkey.

And this year, 2024, the main strategic partner of the congress is the joint stock company Uzbekhydroenergo.

Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, on behalf of our republic, takes constant and active part in these regular events.

Representatives of more than 200 companies from more than 20 countries are scheduled to attend this large congress. The event will also be broadcast online around the world.

It should also be noted that this congress is organized in order to study the ongoing large-scale work in the hydropower industry, the active introduction of new innovative technologies and foreign investors (financial institutions, banks), and further strengthen ties of mutually beneficial cooperation with institutes and design organizations.

The Grand Congress will be held in accordance with a three-day program in the following areas:
– transformation of renewable energy sources in conditions of energy shortages in the regions;
– experience in the construction of large and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants;
– practical work on the modernization of existing hydroelectric power stations;
– construction of small and micro hydroelectric power stations and public-private partnerships;
– foreign experience in energy saving and green transformation;
– cutting-edge innovations in the industry;
– new investment projects;
– experience in digitalization and automation of hydroelectric power plants;
– issues of ensuring energy security;
– the place and importance of hydropower in ensuring energy security;
– promising PSPP projects in Uzbekistan;
– financing of energy projects in Uzbekistan, etc.

The most interesting things in the event program:

- 50+ investment projects behind which lies the future of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea: potential for advanced development, of which 20+ investment projects are in Uzbekistan;

- 40+ useful and informative presentations exclusively from top management and technical leaders;

- Top management and market leaders during the strategic plenary session. Transformation of approaches to renewable energy sources.

Also, as part of the agenda of the congress, on-site studies of the activities of hydroelectric power stations and cascades of Uzbekistan are planned, in particular, on the 3rd day of the congress - 15 March, a press tour is planned with the participation of foreign guests at the Farhad hydroelectric power station, whose capacity after modernization increased to 128 MW.

This major hydropower forum and exhibition is held in cooperation with representatives of the Central Asian and Caspian regions, where key hydropower issues are discussed and experience is exchanged with the participation of leading experts.

It is expected that the main reports of the forum will be devoted to the large-scale reforms being carried out in our country in the field of hydropower, current and future prospects.

The congress agenda includes about 40 reports, and separate round tables, seminars, and briefings with the participation of industry experts are also planned.
