Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In 2023, the ambulance service received 3,505 false calls, the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan reported.

Director of the Republican Emergency Medical Center Abduvoitjon Gafurov noted that compared to 2022, the number of false calls has decreased significantly. In the previous year, almost 2,000 more false calls were recorded - 5,446.

Tashkent region leads in the number of false calls, with 630 cases last year. Ferghana region is in second place with 518 calls, and Kashkadarya region is in third place with 502 calls. The smallest number of false calls was registered in the Samarkand region - 19.

The Ministry of Health noted that false calls negatively affect the work of the ambulance service, taking up the time of doctors, which could be devoted to those who really need medical care.
