Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A 32-year-old J.J., who lives in Nukus district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, having submitted a statement, explained that unknown people had fraudulently stolen money in the amount of 2,000,000 soums from the account of his bank card. This was reported by the Cyber Security Center of the Operational Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As a result of the operational search activities carried out by the Cybersecurity units of the Operative Investigative Service, 21-year-old M.M., who lives in Buvaida district of Ferghana region, has committed this crime.

M.M., brought to the investigating authorities as a suspect, introduced himself as J.J. administrator of the Telefon Bozor channel and for an initial contribution of 2 million soums, promised to provide him with a mobile phone in installments for six months at 166,000 soums. But, as soon as J.J. transferred 2 million soums to his account, he blacklisted his contact.

On this fact in relation to M.M. a criminal case was initiated under part 3 of article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During interrogation with him, he admitted his guilt, and the material damage was fully compensated.

According to the law, a crime under Article 168, paragraph 3, of the Criminal Code is punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
