The Activities of the National Institute of Pedagogical Mastery have received new quality and content

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 Septemberh, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the National Institute of Pedagogical Mastery named after Abdulla Avloniy and familiarized himself with the updated facilities.

Uzbekistan places education at the core of its development, implementing deep reforms and large-scale programs in this area. The most important task is to ensure quality education, which is the foundation of youth policy. The country has over 37,000 kindergartens and more than 10,000 schools, with the construction of new educational institutions continuing.

A key element in improving the quality of education is the professional development of teachers and specialists. The presidential decree adopted on 21 June 2024, regarding the continuous professional development of employees in preschool and school educational organizations has elevated the teacher training system to a new level. In particular, the Abdulla Avloniy Institute of Pedagogical Mastery has been thoroughly renovated and equipped with modern facilities, and training directions have been expanded.

The institute has a history of over 90 years, and in honor of this, a museum has been established at the institution. The museum’s exhibition focuses on the attention of the Jadid enlightenment figures to science, the stages of the development of the education system founded by Abdulla Avloniy, and the evolution of general education. Additionally, the museum includes a library with a collection of around 88,000 books.

The institute has implemented modern qualification enhancement methods based on artificial intelligence technologies. Among the innovations are a situational training room linked to the pedagogical mastery centers of Karakalpakstan and various regions, as well as various software platforms for continuous professional education, management courses, and teacher certification.

The President noted that a school director today should not only be an experienced educator but also a strategist, which is reflected in the institute’s curriculum through the creation of a school for directors.

Particular attention is given to inclusive education: in specialized classrooms, specialists in defectology and educators are enhancing their qualifications.

The President also emphasized the importance of adapting teachers to modern educational requirements, especially in the fields of exact and natural sciences. In this context, the STEM laboratory plays a crucial role in the retraining of teachers. The institute has increased the number of training hours, and renovations have been carried out in the dormitory to improve teachers’ living conditions.

President Mirziyoyev stated that the institute must actively engage with teachers and directors from the regions to improve the quality of education in schools across the country. Without education, it is impossible to create a future, and thus the key task is to nurture a new generation of creators.

This year, about 4,300 leaders of educational institutions have undergone professional development at the institute, and 2,000 directors and director candidates have completed management courses. More than 113,000 educators participated in classes on the "Continuous Professional Education" platform.

A Singaporean educational organization retrained 100 school directors and 200 mathematics and natural science teachers. Additionally, an International Research Center has started operating within the structure of the institute.

Starting in 2025, a system of mandatory retraining for pedagogical and managerial staff every five years will be introduced. Schools will also implement "Professional Development Hours" and a "Professional Development Day," and the experience of presidential schools will be widely utilized in general educational institutions.
