The 96th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 December 2022, the 96th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held via videoconference. The agenda of the meeting included issues covering various areas of economic cooperation between the CIS member states.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Nazaruk, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Belarus Razmik Khumaryan, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev.

At the beginning, the heads of the delegations of the Commonwealth countries briefly exchanged views on topical issues of economic cooperation between the CIS countries. 

Then, at a meeting of the CIS Economic Council, a report on the activities of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States in 2018–2021 was considered.

A report at the meeting was made by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan Erkin Rustamov, who presented information on the activities of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States for the period 2018-2021, as well as the draft Concept for the Development of Industrial Cooperation of the CIS Member States and a set of measures for the development of industrial cooperation between the CIS member states for the period up to 2030, developed by the Uzbek side at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

In addition, relevant decisions were considered and adopted at this meeting, including:

 - on the progress of the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the first stage (2021-2025) of the Economic Development Strategy of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030;

- on the draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of combating fraud (fraud) in telecommunication networks;

Following the meeting, the participants decided to continue economic cooperation, including within the framework of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
